NON Per-Pupil Student
Students who are not enrolled in a federally recognized tribe, or do not have a parent who is an enrolled member of a federally recognized tribe will pay a higher tuition rate.
Oglala Lakota College's primary funding source is a Public Law known as the "Tribally Controlled Community College Assistance Act". Any student who does not provide the Registrar's Office with proof of tribal enrollment, either themselves or their parent, will not have the major portion of the cost of their education reimbursed to the College. Tuition and fees only cover a small fraction of the actual cost of a student's education.
Therefore, any student whose financial aid package does not cover their current tuition and fees or whose enrollment does not result in "per pupil funding" for Oglala Lakota College must pay their full tuition and fees by the end of the third week of classes. Failure to pay the full tuition and fees by the third week of classes will result in an automatic withdrawal from their classes at Oglala Lakota College. The student may still attend and will be required to pay the outstanding balance by the end of the semester in order to receive the grades they earned.
If a non-per pupil student has an old receivable from a previous semester, he/she will be dropped at 100% until the balance is paid in full. Once the balance is paid, he/she will be reinstated in the current semester.
Therefore, non-per pupil funded students who have outstanding balances will not be allowed to enroll at Oglala Lakota College until their balance is paid in full.
